This Privacy Policy explains how Quiz Processing System, provided through Kevin's Teacher Tech, accesses, processes, stores, and shares information.
Quiz Processing System is a desktop application designed for teachers and educational staff. Protecting student information is an important part of its design.
Quiz Processing System is not a cloud-based student data processing service.
The application runs on the user's own computer. Student quizzes, student names, assessment scores, OCR results, and other student work are processed locally on that computer.
Kevin's Teacher Tech does not operate a server that receives or stores student names, student grades, scanned quizzes, or other student educational records processed by Quiz Processing System.
Student information processed by the application is not uploaded to Kevin's Teacher Tech.
Quiz Processing System may process student information including:
Student names
Class rosters
Student quiz or assessment PDFs
Images generated from those assessments for local processing
Assessment topics and scores
Extracted or recognized text
Grade information
This information is processed by the application on the teacher's computer for purposes such as identifying student work, matching names to a class roster, extracting assessment scores, reviewing results, and preparing grade data.
OCR, image analysis, student-name matching, and score extraction are performed locally. Student work is not sent to a cloud-based OCR or artificial intelligence service for processing.
Quiz Processing System provides optional integration with Google Drive and Google Sheets.
When a teacher chooses to use this integration, Google OAuth is used to authorize access. Quiz Processing System requests limited access using Google's drive.file authorization scope.
The teacher creates the Quiz Processing System gradebook through the application. The application accesses the Google spreadsheet authorized for use with the application and does not search, browse, or access unrelated files in the teacher's Google Drive.
Quiz Processing System may use the authorized spreadsheet to:
Read student roster information
Read existing gradebook information needed by the application
Create or update assessment and grade information
Maintain the teacher's Quiz Processing System gradebook
Student names and grades transferred to Google Sheets are sent directly between the locally running Quiz Processing System application and Google's services using the teacher's authorization. This information does not pass through a server operated by Kevin's Teacher Tech.
The Google Sheet remains under the control of the teacher or the Google account responsible for that file.
Google account authorization is used only to provide the Google Sheets/Drive functionality requested by the user.
Quiz Processing System does not use Google user data for:
Advertising
Marketing
Profiling
Selling user information
Training artificial intelligence or machine-learning models
Providing student information to Kevin's Teacher Tech
Providing student information to unrelated third parties
Google user data obtained through the application's authorization is used only to provide the user-facing gradebook functionality described in this Privacy Policy.
Quiz Processing System's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Google OAuth authorization credentials, including tokens that allow the application to reconnect to the teacher's authorized Google account, are stored locally on the teacher's computer in the application's local application-data directory.
These user authorization tokens are not transmitted to or stored on servers operated by Kevin's Teacher Tech.
Users may revoke Quiz Processing System's access to their Google account through their Google account security settings.
Quiz Processing System stores certain information locally on the user's computer so the application can function properly and provide limited functionality when an internet connection is unavailable.
This may include:
A cached copy of current class rosters
Application preferences and settings
Google OAuth authorization information
Information needed to identify the teacher's configured gradebook
These files are stored in the application's local application-data location on the user's computer.
Locally cached rosters are not uploaded to Kevin's Teacher Tech.
Users are responsible for maintaining appropriate security for their computer and user account, particularly when using the application on a device containing student information.
Quiz Processing System allows teachers to select PDF files containing student assessments.
The application processes these files locally. Quiz Processing System does not separately upload or archive these PDFs on a Kevin's Teacher Tech server.
Original PDFs remain in the locations where the teacher stores them.
The application may also allow teachers to export information to formats such as CSV or Excel. These exports are created locally and saved to locations selected or controlled by the user.
Once exported, users are responsible for appropriately storing and protecting those files.
Quiz Processing System does not currently transmit usage analytics, student information, crash reports, or application telemetry to Kevin's Teacher Tech.
The application does not use student information for advertising or tracking.
The Kevin's Teacher Tech website may be subject to separate technical logging or services provided by its website-hosting provider. Website activity does not provide Kevin's Teacher Tech with access to student information being processed inside the desktop Quiz Processing System application.
Quiz Processing System may contact GitHub to determine whether a newer version of the application is available.
An update check is used only to obtain information about available software releases. Quiz Processing System does not include student names, grades, rosters, quiz content, or other student educational information in update requests.
GitHub may independently receive ordinary technical information associated with an internet request, such as an IP address, in accordance with GitHub's own privacy practices.
Quiz Processing System relies on or may interact with third-party services and software, including Google Drive, Google Sheets, and GitHub.
Those services operate under their own privacy policies and terms.
Kevin's Teacher Tech does not control the operation, security practices, or privacy policies of these third-party services.
Kevin's Teacher Tech does not sell student information or Google user data.
Because Quiz Processing System processes student work locally and Kevin's Teacher Tech does not receive that student information, Kevin's Teacher Tech does not maintain a central database of student names, grades, rosters, or scanned assessments from users of the application.
Student information is not shared by Kevin's Teacher Tech with advertisers or data brokers.
Quiz Processing System is intended for teachers and other educational staff who are authorized to access the student information they process.
Users are responsible for following applicable school, district, employer, and legal requirements regarding student educational records and the devices on which those records are processed.
The application is designed to minimize external handling of student information by performing assessment processing locally and allowing gradebook information to remain within the teacher's authorized Google environment.
Kevin's Teacher Tech does not maintain server-side copies of student rosters, grades, quizzes, or assessment results processed by Quiz Processing System.
Locally stored information remains on the user's computer until it is removed by the user or application.
Information stored in Google Sheets remains subject to the user's Google account and Google's data-management controls.
Users who wish to stop using Quiz Processing System may remove the application and its locally stored application data and may revoke the application's Google account authorization through their Google account settings.
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Quiz Processing System changes.
If future versions introduce materially different data practices, such as cloud-based processing, analytics, or additional integrations, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe those practices.
The current Privacy Policy will be available through the Kevin's Teacher Tech website.
